Switch Apps was founded in 2004 as VisualEye, offering website development alongside interactive photography. We rapidly became the outsourced website team for many design agencies, providing bespoke website applications and management of open-source CMS systems.
A review of our key services, local and open-source technologies highlighted an opportunity to redefine our offering and focus on website development and emerging technologies. Research confirmed a requirement for a website content management system for design agencies, backed up by supporting technology services. The first version of VisualEdit CMS was released in September 2006.
Two years later we felt a company rebrand would create a firmer platform for our key product and to support future products, Switch Apps and our website platform SiteBuilder was born.
SiteBuilder has rapidly blossomed into a product powering all scales of businesses, professionals, independent website designers and design agencies. While our supporting services have enabled design agencies to offer their clients richer technologies and business tools to capitalise on today’s online marketplace and opportunities.
Switch Apps continues to develop the SiteBuilder product alongside a host of standalone products in development, while also completing customised projects. Staying on top of web technologies means we can offer our agency partners cutting edge solutions such as mobile specific web development and apps for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android devices.
